Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly is your club located?

The new Mid-Cape Racquet & Health Club is located on the north side of Pine Island Road between Chiquita Boulevard and Skyline Boulevard.   The club's entrance fronts onto Ceitus Terrace and our address is:

1300 Ceitus Terrace
Cape Coral, FL  33991

Why did you choose Cape Coral?

We wanted to bring the combination racquet-sports and health club concept to Southwest Florida.  After several years of research in the area, it was evident that Cape Coral provided a "land of opportunity".  There are no soft tennis courts in the area, and when the land for our project was purchased in the Fall of 2002, Cape Coral's total population was almost 125,000.  According to numbers from the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, the city's total population as of September 2004 is almost 158,000.  That's a 24% increase!

What is your targeted opening date?

WE ARE NOW COMPLETELY OPEN!  We planned to have tennis ready before the end of the Summer of 2004, however, the 2004 hurricane season had plans of its own!  We opened for tennis in mid-October of that year, thus living up to our slogan, "Serving up tennis in Cape Coral for 2004"!   We began our building construction in November 2005 and recently opened the remainder of the fitness facility in mid-October of 2006.

Who built your tennis courts?

Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. built the 10 Har-Tru®, fast dry tennis courts at our Mid-Cape Racquet and Health Club in Cape Coral.  Welch's quality and reputation makes them the premier tennis court builder in the country today.  Welch was named "Tennis Court Builder of the Year" in 2001 by Tennis Industry Magazine, built four of the top nine soft-court facilities in the country (2003 - Tennis Industry Magazine), and is consistently recognized by the USTA, USPTA, and the Tennis Court and Track Builders Association for their quality installations.

What can you tell me about your tennis courts?

All 10 tennis courts were built using Welch's patented HydroGrid® technology.  Using a fast dry Har-Tru® surface along with the HydroGrid® sub-surface irrigation ensures a uniform and controlled wetness throughout the court.  In most cases, these courts will be playable within an hour or so following a torrential rainfall, which is more than quite common to our area in Florida!  We have five 2-court batteries.  Most of the perimeter fencing on each battery is 10 feet high with windscreens, and have diagonal-cut corners.  Each 2-court battery has an eight by sixteen foot canopy with benches and a stainless steel water cooler.  Lastly, all courts are lit for night play using Techlight's tournament lighting configuration.  This layout means that each court has eight 1000 watt halide lights evenly distributed around the court for tournament level playing conditions.  The lighting is consistent throughout.  No "hot" spots and no shadows.  We know that you'll love playing on these courts!

What types of programming do you offer?

What can you tell us about the health club facilities and the amenities it has?

Our 18,000 square foot building features a full health club facility, including  two racquetball/squash courts with a moveable back wall, variable resistance circuit training equipment, cardio-vascular exercise equipment, and a separate free-weight training area.  Three group exercise studios will be used for aerobics classes, Pilates, body sculpting,  cycling and exercise activities.  Other services are to include personal training, physical therapy, and licensed massage therapists.   Amenities will include child care services and locker rooms, featuring saunas, steam rooms, and a whirlpool overlooking the tennis courts.  A pro shop, smoothie bar, and tennis court viewing area are only a few of the additional highlights that will enhance this ultra-modern facility.

I've heard there is another Mid-Cape Racquet & Health Club?

The concept of Mid-Cape Racquet & Health Club, LLC of Cape Coral is modeled after another club, owned and operated by the Majewski family since 1977.  So, Suzanne's family has been in the tennis & fitness business for 30 years, having run the Mid-Cape Racquet & Health Club in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod (the "other" Cape).  Suzanne's parents, Gene and Carrol Majewski, purchased the club in 1977.  At that time it had six indoor tennis courts.  Over the years, the club has evolved into a full service racquet-sports and health club with nine indoor tennis courts, one racquetball court and one squash court.  The health and fitness center includes aerobics, Nautilus® circuit training, cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and specialized classes including Pilates, Spinning, and Body Pump.  They also offer services like personal training, body composition analysis, tanning, and massage.  The club has been run by Suzanne's parents, her brothers Mike Majewski and Bob Majewski.  It is currently run by her brother Bob Majewski and his wife Vickie Burke-Majewski.

What can you tell us about the owner/operators?

The Cape Coral, Florida club is owned and operated by the Mid-Cape Racquet & Health Club, LLC's Managing Members,  Bob and Suzanne Lynch.  Bob and Suzanne moved from Andover, Massachusetts in 2004 and have re-located to Cape Coral to run Mid-Cape.  In addition to running this great business, they are now closer to family who live Fort Myers.

With our extensive business background, industry knowledge, and the family's expertise in the industry, you can see why we expect Mid-Cape to be a great success.  We are especially excited to be part of the Cape Coral community while providing you with unparalleled service.
